Ever wondered what Third Cultures are, or can be, or even should be?<\/strong> I’ve made some forays into different answers to that questions on this website before, but this post is different.<\/p>\n

We’ve finally published the annotated bibliography on third cultures<\/strong>, which extensively explores different ways this subject has been studied in various fields, in popular literature and podcasts<\/strong>, as well as extensively and multi-disciplinarily in academic journals<\/strong> (and one book I highlight specifically). You can find the document aqui<\/a> – please note you need to scroll down a little, it is under the heading of the concept of third cultures.<\/p>\n

What is clear from the exploration that forms the basis of this annotated bibliography is that it shows the quite disparate ways in which the same concept has been used in different fields<\/strong>. Nevertheless it maintains relevant overlaps<\/strong>, in my view, when it comes to the exploration of finding ways to transcend dualities, and dilemma’s.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I suggest that this bibliography will be interesting to those studying third cultures from the perspective of “third culture kid” experiences as well as from the “sciences”-humanities divide<\/strong> – most notably as these two strands may not be well aware of one-another, and may thus be inspired – or perhaps even shocked – by their similarities and differences.<\/p>\n
