Jo Blake Performs Frau Holle for MobileWorlds

For the MobileWorlds Festival, Jo Blake, contemporary storyteller focusing on interdisciplinary collaboration and embodiment, performed a beautiful story, based on the classic fairytale “Frau Holle”. We were able to record her performance to share it here with those who could not make it to the online edition of the Festival. This performance provides an invitation and a challenge to all those interested in and working with mobilities and transport, to rethink the meaning of mobilities, often far beyond its immediate utility of reaching point B from point A.

Prepare to be enchanted and inspired, after my brief introduction of Jo, with her story. I do recommend watching it full screen, rather than only listening, as this performance’s energy is not only audible but also visible, even without added visual effects – something that I would say speaks to true talent in a world dominated by complex and AI-optimised visual effects.
