The MobileWorlds Survey was carried out to collect international experiences with (third) cultures, and the relationship people see between such cultures and mobility/transport. The survey included two key parts, one focused on cultural backgrounds and combinations, and the other on mobility-transport options. The survey was a mixed quantitative and qualitative survey and was open from 10 June 2024 until 2 March 2025. It received 70 complete responses, and another 102 incomplete responses. It was made available in the following languages: English, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, and Chinese. To give an idea of the respondents, we can share some of their general characteristics (though some of these questions were skipped by some of the respondents): the survey received responses from people from the following age groups: 19-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-55, 56-65, 66-75, 75+, with most responses in the 26-35 (23) and 36-45 (18) categories. 40 respondents were women, 27 men, and 3 responded non-binary, other, or “prefer not to say”. We had responses from Angola, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Indonesia, Mozambique, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the United States, with highest numbers from Norway (20) and Germany (11). Among the represented occupations, these included academic work, teaching, consultancy work, secretary work, retiree, shop work, unemployed, IT work, civil engineers, psychotherapist, and others.
The full survey questions are provided in the pdf below (after a copy of this introduction), followed by the responses to the quantiative questions. The qualitative data is kept for internal analysis in the project but not shared in its raw form to protect the privacy of the survey participants. Much of the qualitative data further qualifies the quantitative data provided below.
